ALL HANDS ON DECK: ARTFUL SKATEBOARD DECKS BY LOCAL ARTISTS
ARTIST RECEPTION and AUDIENCE PRIZES JUNE 14TH
SANTA CRUZ, CA — June 9, 2017 — Twenty-three local Santa Cruz County artists from painters and printmakers, to muralists and graphic designers transformed skateboard decks into works of art.
Artists include: female skateboard champion Judi Oyama, graphic designer Allison Garcia, oil painter Beth Shields, painter and photographer Claire Lerner, the founder of Nostalgic Tones Art Collective Danny Fernandez, illustrator and cartoonist John McKinley, and woodworker, painter, and photographer Rob Bennett.
The decks are now on display at Radius Gallery at the Tannery Arts Center, 1050 River St #127, Santa Cruz.
Meet the artists on June 14th from 6 to 8 pm at Radius Gallery. One of our sponsors- NHS -will be giving away skate prizes up to $500 that night.
Skateboard decks will be raffled off on July 7th. This fundraising raffle supports Arts Council Santa Cruz County’s work to power the arts in Santa Cruz County.
