Bio
Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre (SCBT) was formed in 1983 and has been presenting The Nutcracker ballet to Santa Cruz audiences since its inception, with live orchestra since 2002. The company is a pre-professional group of talented and dedicated dancers who love sharing their passion with their peers and younger students. SCBT is a proud member of The Ballet Alliance, and presents a varied repertoire throughout the season, from classics such as “Swan Lake Act II” to contemporary and modern dance pieces. Artistic Director Diane Cypher has been teaching ballet for 40 years and has been at the helm of SCBT since 1998. She has graduated many professional dancers into the field and is enthusiastic to share her knowledge with audiences. |
