Classes
Family Art Nights only
Friendly Monster Puppets: Drawing on fantasy, invention, and imagination, students will make creative monster puppets by painting and drawing faces with multiple features on paper plates and collaging that on a paper lunch bag with the option of adding arms, legs, wings, or other things.
Circle Abstractions: Inspired by ideas about neurographic art and the playful art of doodling, young artists will start by printing circles using lids and caps. They will extend the abstraction through painting and drawing. With connecting lines, patterns, and shapes, young artists create balance, mood, and sensation through a focus on color and design.
Butterflies, Birds, or Bugs: Using the technique of mono-printing with other painting and drawing techniques, each session will focus on one of these categories to create vibrant and playful art. Young artists experience the effects of color and learn about balance, design, and the beauty of nature.
Floral Art: Young artists use a variety of printmaking, drawing, and/or collage techniques to create “bouquets” of flowers with an emphasis on color dynamics and painting techniques. Thinking about texture and shape to start, adding details and patterns will add to the effect. A focus on arrangement and design will add to their artistic experience.
