Sustain What You Love
Fundraising
bySally GreenonNovember 3, 2026

Our world and our community are changing rapidly. As systems shift and we face new challenges, there’s a lot to preserve. Every choice made, every action taken or not taken, and every dollar invested is a stake in the ground, a palpable representation of what’s important to us. In times like these, we’re called to stand up for what matters most—to actively protect, nourish, and sustain what we love.

While creativity continues to show up in classrooms, studios, and public spaces across Santa Cruz County, it takes intentional care. Our local cultural life isn’t an accident. Behind the scenes, our team does the quiet, intentional work—the investment, coordination, care, and relationship building—that keeps the arts from being pushed to the margins.

This year, through Arts Council Santa Cruz County’s programs:

  • 11,000+ imaginations are sparked through arts education.
  • $390,000 in grants back artists, community organizations, and fellowship opportunities.
  • 350+ Open Studios, including 69 new artists, drive art sales of more than $1.5M directly into the pockets of local artists.

Behind every number is a heartbeat—a child discovering confidence through dance, a muralist telling a community’s story, and a musician keeping tradition alive.

Nourishing the Roots of Creativity

Our work isn't flashy, but it is essential. It’s the living network that connects, resources, and uplifts the artists and organizations who bring our community to life. Your donations ensure that:

  • Artists are supported through grants, mentorship, and platforms to sell, perform, and grow.
  • Arts connect the community as teaching artists work in schools, creative voices lead civic dialogue, and art becomes a bridge between cultures and ideas.
  • The arts are championed through our new Arts Advocacy Coalition, which ensures policies, budgets, and development plans keep art at the center of public life.

Your gift isn’t a transaction—it’s a love letter to the future.

Your investment in the arts today is a legacy of imagination tomorrow—a statement that beauty, belonging, and creativity matter as much as anything else.

Thank you for protecting and sustaining creativity as an irreplaceable community resource.

Please, donate today.

With Gratitude,
